The Scholar-Practitioner

Dr. Avalur is that rare technical leader who is as comfortable editing an IEEE Journal as he is managing a product ramp-up. Serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II until 2025, he has remained at the bleeding edge of circuit theory while delivering millions of units to the market.

Prior to founding MOSart, he served as Director of R&D at AMS OSRAM, where he grew a 25-member analog design team from scratch. His leadership style is rooted in mentorship—boasting a high retention rate and serving as an advisor for PhD students at top institutions like IIT Hyderabad.

“From High-Voltage CMOS Gate Drivers to precision Optical Sensors, my work focuses on robust, fault-tolerant designs that survive the harsh automotive environment.”

Technical Innovation

A true inventor, Dr. Avalur holds numerous granted patents in power conversion and sensor arrangements. His domain expertise covers the “nervous system” of modern vehicles: Battery Management ICs (BMS), Automotive Bus Networking, and Power Management.

He has successfully led complete product developments from concept to unlimited production, ensuring ISO 9001:TS16949 compliance and establishing the Hyderabad design center as a hub for excellence.
